About the role

National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a to work as part of the team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage. 

Join one of Australia’s most respected conservation agencies and play a pivotal role in supporting the management of over 8.4 million hectares of protected areas across NSW. As the Team Leader, Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) System, you will lead the team responsible for delivering high‑quality system support and continuous improvement of NPWS’s enterprise‑wide asset management platform. Your work will help ensure our parks, infrastructure and visitor assets are managed efficiently, safely and sustainably.

In this role, you will oversee the operation, enhancement and governance of the SAP-based EAM system, ensuring it meets the needs of staff across a geographically dispersed organisation. You will guide a team of technical specialists, collaborate closely with corporate IT partners, drive system improvement projects, and ensure asset information is accurate, reliable and accessible to support informed decision‑making.

You will also build strong relationships with internal stakeholders—ranging from regional staff to senior leadership—providing expert advice, training and support as NPWS continues to modernise its asset management capabilities. This role combines leadership, systems expertise and strategic thinking to help shape the future of asset management across the NSW National Parks estate.

About You

We are looking for a proactive and experienced leader with strong technical expertise in Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems and a passion for driving system excellence across a large, diverse organisation. You will bring a deep understanding of asset information systems—ideally SAP EAM—and the ability to translate business needs into practical, scalable system solutions.

We’re seeking someone who can lead and mentor a high‑performing team, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and deliver high‑quality system support to staff across multiple regions. You will excel at building relationships, collaborating with IT partners and operational teams, and providing expert advice that strengthens system capability and enhances asset management outcomes.

You’ll thrive in this role if you are a confident communicator, a problem‑solver at heart, and someone who enjoys working in an environment where technology, service delivery and public value intersect. Essential requirements 

  • Extensive experience in leading the delivery of technical advice, training and support, system improvement and quality control for asset management information systems in a large scale, geographically dispersed organisation.
  • A high level of expertise in relation to Asset Management Information Systems, including the development and implementation of systems and processes for the capture, quality control, analysis and reporting of asset related information at a local, regional and state-wide scale.
  • A current Australian Drivers Licence.
