  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $113,574.00 to $125,720.00 plus super (Clerk Grade 7/8)

The role

The HSW Project Officer plays a key role in supporting safer workplaces by coordinating projects, analysing emerging risks, and helping deliver practical HSW initiatives. The role brings together project planning, data-driven insights, clear communication, and stakeholder collaboration to ensure programs are delivered on time, to a high standard, and in line with organisational priorities.

 

Success in this position relies on navigating competing deadlines, working with diverse stakeholder groups, and developing creative, proactive solutions to complex or sensitive issues. The role requires someone who can balance operational demands with strategic thinking, maintain accurate documentation, and contribute to a positive and engaging experience for all involved.

What you will bring to the role

  • Skilled in analysing data and trends to inform decision-making and support the development of effective health, safety and wellbeing initiatives, focusing on physical and psychosocial risks.
  • Confident in managing project documentation and reporting requirements to ensure clarity, consistency and compliance with organisational standards.
  • Adept at coordinating multiple workstreams simultaneously, ensuring project milestones are met while maintaining a high standard of quality.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to navigate complex challenges and adapt to evolving situations.
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
  • Maintains meticulous attention to detail amidst high-volume workloads, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks and deliverables.
  • Skilled in developing and facilitating workshops for a wide range of audiences on a wide range of health, safety and wellbeing topics.

 

Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications as an allied health professional or in a relevant health discipline such as behavioural and social sciences, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, rehabilitation counselling, exercise physiology or in a related field and/or equivalent experience.
