About the role
National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Project Officer to work as part of the team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage.
The Training Officer (Fire) is responsible for delivering firefighter training that meets all compliance requirements. This includes combining theory with practical skills to ensure learners achieve the relevant units of competency. The role supports a diverse range of learners throughout their training journey.
The Training Officer (Fire) works closely with trainers across NSW to coordinate training delivery, share resources, and maintain consistent, high-quality programs statewide. The position also contributes to improving training materials so they remain up to date, easy to use, and aligned with NPWS firefighting operations, regulatory requirements, and national industry standards.

Essential requirements
- TAE40116 Certificate IV Training and Assessment or equivalent
- Currency in the qualifications being trained and/or assessed with demonstrated experience in field operations for an emergency and/or land management agency.
- A current Australian driver’s license
Desired skills and knowledge
- PUA20719 Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting Operations) or equivalent
- Ability to undertake/support operational response in a field or incident management role as required.
- Experience working in the vocational education and training sector.
