The Ministerial Services Branch (MSB) within DCCEEW is seeking a highly motivated Project Officer to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to high-profile areas including climate change, energy, environment, and heritage.
About the role
As a Project Officer, you will develop, coordinate and implement business performance systems that guide planning, reporting and information management for Ministerial Services.
- develop key reporting tools to track performance of Ministerial and Executive documents to enable the Minister’s Office and Executives to measure success and identify issues provide clear, risk-assessed advice on complex and sensitive issues
- work cooperatively with staff across the Department to provide technical advice on reporting systems and procedures to promote knowledge transfer, engagement and compliance with timeframes and quality expectations.
- Develop operational guidelines, processes and procedures to support a consistent approach to the implementation of reporting systems.
This role offers a unique view across governance, public policy, and program delivery, with strong career development pathways within the NSW public sector.
About you
You are a confident communicator and strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You bring:
- strong Microsoft Excel skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy
- experience or the ability to acquire experience in reporting technology such as PowerBi and the use of AI such as CoPilot
- excellent organisational skills to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- sound judgement, diplomacy, and analytical thinking to navigate sensitive issues
- a customer-focused mindset and commitment to public service excellence.
Essential requirements
- Experience in working in an executive support/administration function including developing and implementing reporting systems and performance indicators along with experience using the advanced features of a document management system like Content Manager for monitoring, tracking and reporting purposes.
- Experience in the preparation of briefing notes, reports, correspondence and speeches consistent with protocols and standards.
- Experience in the drafting of website content and an understanding of website design.
