Seeking a seasoned senior energy policy executive with a distinguished record in shaping complex, highimpact reforms and steering major legislative agendas through Cabinet and Parliament to deliver strategic government priorities.

 

  • Permanent Full-time role (35 hours per week).
  • Office located Parramatta NSW, hybrid working supported
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $173,121 to $191,993 pa plus superannuation.

 

As the Senior Manager, Network Economic Regulation, you will spearhead strategies and policies with a focus on Networks and Pipelines to achieve NSW Government outcomes. Working within Energy Infrastructure, you will ensure NSW energy legislation and regulations are fit for purpose and lead a portfolio of initiatives within the Networks and Pipelines Policy Branch.

 

Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Leading complex energy policy development and reform, including analysis, consultation, evaluation frameworks, and strategic planning to deliver cost‑effective, evidence‑based policy and regulation.
  • Coordinate policy inputs into regulatory reforms and legislation, guide cross‑stream integration, and oversee end‑to‑end parliamentary and Cabinet processes to progress energy legislation.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships and provide expert policy advice to senior executives and Ministers, while contributing to branch performance, planning and assurance.

About You

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of leading complex and high‑impact policy development and delivery within the energy sector. Your experience spans both energy markets and network infrastructure, where you have consistently driven priority outcomes through strategic analysis, collaborative stakeholder engagement and the design of evidence‑based policy solutions.

 

You will bring a strong ability to translate technical and market insights into clear, actionable policy directions, legislative and regulatory instruments that support government objectives.

 

You also bring extensive experience navigating Cabinet, legislative and parliamentary processes. This includes shaping and coordinating comprehensive legislative packages, managing cross‑agency and stakeholder contributions, and supporting the smooth progression of legislation through all stages of Parliament.

 

Your capability in managing end‑to‑end legislative processes ensures reforms are well‑crafted, rigorously considered and effectively implemented.

  

What is an essential requirement:  

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or relevant equivalent experience.

Energy Infrastructure Division 

 

The Energy Infrastructure Division leads initiatives to maintain a safe, secure and reliable electricity and gas supply and support the transition to a clean and affordable energy system. This includes energy infrastructure assets in front of the customer meter such as electricity generation, storage, and networks, gas and liquid fuel pipelines, and underlying electricity and gas markets.

 

The Division is responsible for policy stewardship, safety and technical regulation, technical advice and managing agreements for energy infrastructure investment and operations. The Energy Infrastructure Division also coordinates energy industry response in the event of emergencies
