  • Salary ranges from $113,574 to $ 125,720 plus super and leave loading

 

As the Water Group Finance branch continues to grow, we have a newly created Business Advisor Support Officer role to support expanded functions at the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).

 

About the Role

The Business Advisor Support Officer supports the financial management and reporting activities for a regulatory statutory water oversight entity, a specialist water monitoring and technical services provider, and a multi‑agency, jointly funded Commonwealth program. The role delivers accurate financial reporting, prepares reconciliations for Commonwealth‑funded programs, maintains compliant management accounting records, and contributes to statutory reporting and audit processes. It also undertakes budgeting, forecasting and analysis in PRIME, monitors cashflow, and works closely with business units to provide financial advice that supports effective decision‑making.

 

About You

You are a detail‑oriented finance professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex environment. You take a proactive approach to financial management and are committed to delivering accurate, timely and compliant outcomes.

You demonstrate sound judgement, communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, and work collaboratively to support informed decision‑making. You understand the importance of financial governance and ensure all financial activities are conducted in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and standards.

 

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, business or commerce fields; experience and knowledge of financial and management accounting
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel, and experience using financial systems such as SAP
