The Renewable Fuel and Hydrogen Strategy team is seeking to appoint two Project Officers to contribute to the delivery of key government strategies that will support these new, low-carbon industries.
These roles offer an exciting opportunity to play a part in coordinating complex projects and supporting high-level cross-agency initiatives shaping the future direction of decarbonisation in NSW.
The roles provide important project management and support services, including supporting the implementation and monitoring of project plans, preparing reports and briefs, coordinating resources, and communicating with key stakeholders across government, industry, and research.

About You

We are seeking outcomes-driven people with strong project coordination skills, capable of managing multiple priorities, maintaining quality under pressure, and communicating effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
The ideal candidates will bring demonstrated knowledge of clean energy markets, supporting renewable initiatives through a clear understanding of market trends and evidence-based decision making.

Project Officer Role Description
Who we are
The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) works to protect the state’s environment and heritage. It leads the way on climate change, driving the sustainable transition to a net zero economy, powered by affordable, reliable, and clean energy.
The Renewable Fuel and Hydrogen Strategy team leads the implementation of both the NSW Renewable Fuel Strategy and the NSW Hydrogen Strategy.
Our team is part of the Industry Policy and Engagement branch within the Business and Industry Decarbonisation Division. Our branch drives critical projects aimed at decarbonising hard-to-abate sectors, supporting low carbon industries and innovation, and advancing renewable energy in NSW. We will try to offer flexibility to help you apply your skills and experience to areas of your interest where we can.
We acknowledge the ongoing custodial responsibilities of the Aboriginal peoples of NSW to care for Country and water and are committed to establishing meaningful partnerships with Aboriginal peoples in the management of the environment.
