The Water Group leads the NSW Government in providing confidence to communities and stakeholders with the transparent stewardship of water resources, provision of services and reforms that support sustainable and healthy environments, economies and societies across NSW.
Our Commonwealth Interfaces team is currently seeking to appoint 2 x Project Officer - Commonwealth Interface in a temporary capacity to 31 March 2027.
About You
As the Project Officer – Commonwealth Interfaces you will provide issues management and project support for the water capital works program interfaces and individual project interfaces with stakeholders to improve delivery of regional projects that improve water security across NSW, drive economic growth in regional NSW economies, support towns and communities and enhance environmental outcomes.
- Support the delivery of major regional water infrastructure projects that strengthen water security and drought resilience across regional NSW.
- Provide high-quality project coordination, governance and risk support to ensure projects meet NSW Government priorities and Commonwealth funding milestones.
- Contribute to business cases, Gateway reviews, funding applications and interagency negotiations by delivering accurate, timely information and analysis.
- Prepare clear and strategic briefings, reporting and policy advice for senior executives, Ministers and central agencies, including NSW Treasury.
- Monitor project performance, manage competing priorities and proactively identify and escalate risks to keep projects on time, on budget and on track.
