Lead economic appraisal for energy network infrastructure projects critical to supporting delivery of the NSW Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap
- Ongoing fulltime role at 35 hours per week plus FlexTime

- Salary range from $129,464 to $142,665 plus super and leave loading
EnergyCo is spearheading the transition to renewable energy to deliver clean electricity to the people of NSW as coal-fired power stations near closure.
About the Opportunity
Join the Energy Corporation of NSW in a pivotal role leading the economic appraisal of major network infrastructure projects. You will deliver rigorous cost–benefit analysis and economic modelling to inform business cases, infrastructure planner network recommendations and executive decision-making, translating complex analysis into clear, actionable insights for the EnergyCo Executive Leadership team and the Board.
Combining your economic modelling expertise with strategic oversight, you will manage outsourced providers and contracts while ensuring analytical rigour and value for money. As part of a high performing team, you will help shape energy policy and investment decisions that drive NSW’s energy future.
About You
You are an experienced economist and subject matter expert in economic modelling and infrastructure appraisal, with strong capability in cost–benefit analysis. You understand energy markets and can confidently turn modelling outcomes into sharp, decision-ready advice for senior executives, the EnergyCo Board and Ministers.
With excellent writing and stakeholder engagement skills, you are comfortable influencing high-level decision-makers and managing external providers. You bring sound judgement, commercial acumen and a collaborative approach to delivering strategic, evidence-based outcomes.

Who we are?
The Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo) is a statutory corporation established under the Energy and Utilities Administration Act 1987 and governed by its Board, appointed by the Minister for Energy. EnergyCo is a Staff Agency employing all EnergyCo staff and is an agency related to the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).
EnergyCo plays a pivotal role in the NSW Government’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap, which aims to transform the state’s electricity system into one that is cheap, clean, and reliable. As Infrastructure Planner under the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020, EnergyCo is responsible for leading the delivery of the State’s first five Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) and the first two priority transmission infrastructure projects (PTIPs), which are located in the Central-West Orana, New England, South West, Hunter-Central Coast, and Illawarra regions. We work closely with communities, investors, and industry to investigate, plan, recommend and coordinate generation, storage and network infrastructure projects.
