As our Senior Finance Data Governance Officer, you’ll help shape and deliver a department-wide program that lifts the quality, consistency and reliability of our financial reporting. You’ll collaborate with teams across the business to embed governance practices, improve systems and processes, and provide expert advice that supports confident, high-quality decision-making.

In this role you’ll contribute to designing and implementing governance frameworks, developing practical tools and guidance, supporting audits, and driving improvements across our finance systems. You’ll also stay across emerging technologies and system capabilities, identifying opportunities that add value while helping the organisation navigate change with minimal disruption.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Experience managing financial information, understanding system capabilities, and supporting process or system change with minimal business disruption.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to weigh up options, work through complex issues and identify effective solutions.
  • Well-developed communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain financial or technical concepts, prepare high-quality documentation and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Confidence in working with governance frameworks, policies and controls, and an understanding of how to manage financial data quality, risk and compliance.
  • The ability to manage your workload independently, set priorities and support others to achieve shared outcomes.
  • A customer-focused approach that recognises business needs, builds constructive relationships, and works toward mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and contemporary financial management, supported by relevant qualifications or equivalent experience.

 

What is an essential requirement:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a financial, accounting or technology discipline or equivalent professional experience.
