The Climate Change and Sustainability Policy (CCSP) Branch supports the Minister and Executive by leading the development of strategic policy, influencing whole-of-government and national policy formation, and providing policy advice.
About the Talent Pool
The CCSP Branch is conducting a talent pool recruitment round for Policy Officer roles (ongoing & temporary) that may become available over the next 18 months, across branches of the Energy, Climate Change & Sustainability (ECCS) Group.
Policy Officer roles within the ECCS Group are an exciting opportunity to help lead the way on climate change and drive the sustainable transition to a net zero economy, powered by affordable, reliable, and clean energy.
The critical Policy Officer role will see you manage the development, implementation, monitoring, improvement and evaluation of key policy settings. You will provide policy advice, research and analysis to key internal stakeholders to develop and implement policy reforms. This will include preparing briefings, reports and discussion papers, as well as participating in meetings and delivering presentations to a range of audiences.
The Policy Officer role is pivotal to ensuring policy and program design is effective, innovative and meets priority objectives to achieve critical state outcomes. The opportunity will allow you to help deliver real change in how we help transform NSW to a more sustainable future.
About You
To be successful in this opportunity, you will ideally have experience in policy development, implementation and evaluation. This role also greatly benefits from an understanding of the machinery of Government and the policy process.
You will also have the ability to achieve assigned project objectives within a high volume and evolving work environment. It will be important to be confident in supporting complex and sensitive consultations with diverse stakeholders, within agreed timelines and varying expectations.
