About the team
The IT Delivery & Transformation team is delivering a range of exciting projects and programs across DCCEEW. As the team continues to grow, we are seeking three experienced Senior Business Analysts to join us and play a key role in delivering successful outcomes that support the department’s strategic objectives and service delivery priorities.

 

About the role

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will support the delivery of projects within the Transformation, Data and Systems program.

You will assist in discovery, process streamlining, managing workshops and gathering and documenting business requirements.  You will facilitate discussion between stakeholders and technical teams and collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure business needs are understood and are translated into fit for purpose project scope and effective solution deliverables

We are recruiting three Senior Business Analysts to support upcoming initiatives and strengthen delivery capability across the portfolio. The roles include:

  • a Senior Business Analyst with expertise in data migration to support system transitions and ensure data integrity
  • a Senior Business Analyst specialising in process re‑engineering to analyse and redesign business workflows for improved efficiency
  • a Senior Business Analyst focused on developing process maps and supporting core business analysis activities.

 

About You

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Strong experience delivering business analysis services on complex digital, data, or system transformation initiatives
  • Proven ability to engage with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into clear, structured requirements
  • Experience analysing and documenting business processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and supporting solution design
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, including running workshops and presenting analysis outcomes to business and technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to support the delivery of effective and user‑focused digital solutions
  • Experience with business analysis and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar platforms, with familiarity with both Agile and structured delivery approaches
  • Data Migration: Demonstrated experience analysing legacy and target systems to support data migration activities, including data mapping, data quality assessment, transformation rules, and validation to ensure accurate and reliable migration of data between systems.
  • Process Re‑engineering: Proven ability to analyse existing business processes, identify inefficiencies, and design improved future‑state workflows through stakeholder workshops, process mapping (As‑Is / To‑Be), and implementation of process improvements aligned with organisational and system changes.

 

Essential requirements 

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience in business analysis, business process improvement, or related disciplines, with demonstrated capability in requirements elicitation, stakeholder engagement, process mapping, and solution analysis. Experience in areas such as data migration, process re‑engineering, or supporting digital and data initiatives will be highly regarded.
