  • Salary is relative to experience and ranges from $129,464.00 TO $142,665.00 plus super

The role

The Senior Departmental Liaison Officer provides advice and responses regarding issues which affect the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) and high-level administration support as required. The role facilitates the effective and efficient operation of the Minister’s Office and contributes to the achievement of Department and Government commitments.

 

You will have strong communication skills, including the ability to deliver high-quality written briefs and advice on complex and sensitive issues to diverse audiences. You proactively engage and communicate with all stakeholders in a positive and professional manner to ensure strong relationships are developed and maintained to support your commitment to provide superior, effective and efficient support for current and emerging matters in a sensitive and ever-changing environment.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate thorough working knowledge of the machinery of government, the roles of Cabinet & Parliament within NSW, as well as the procedures required for ministerial correspondence, briefings, parliamentary material, and speeches.

  • Capable of driving outcomes while effectively involving stakeholders throughout the process, fostering collaboration and buy-in. 
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
  • A self‑starter who takes initiative, spotting what needs to be done and stepping in early to keep work moving without waiting for direction
  • Comfortable working in a busy, high‑pressure environment, staying organised and focused while managing competing priorities and fast‑changing demands
  • Maintains meticulous attention to detail amidst high-volume workloads, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks and deliverables.
