The Director, Marketing and Communications is responsible for leading the development, implementation and oversight of the Energy Security Corporation’s brand, communications and corporate affairs functions. The role provides strategic advice to the CEO and Executive Team and ensures that the ESC’s mandate, priorities and activities are clearly and consistently communicated to government, industry, stakeholders and the public.

 

The Director oversees external and internal communications, media management, digital channels and engagement activities, ensuring that the organisation’s reputation is effectively managed and that communication strategies support the ESC’s strategic objectives, statutory responsibilities and program delivery. The role leads the coordination of ministerial.

 

About You

 

To be successful in this position, you will be an experienced marketing and communications executive with a strong track record in leading a marketing and communications team in a growing and complex organisation. You will be a strong people leader with exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills. You will also be a strategic thinker and a key influencer to help the ESC delivering on their critical short-term and long-term objectives. Your technical experience will include but not be restricted to the follow focus areas:

 

  • Strategy and Leadership
  • Brand, reputation and risk management
  • Corporate Affairs
  • Government and ministerial liaison
  • Agency and delivery oversight
  • Digital and social media

 

Essential Requirements

 

  • Significant experience in senior communications, marketing or corporate affairs roles, ideally in government, finance, infrastructure or energy.
  • Degree qualification in marketing, communications or relevant discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated success in managing external agencies to deliver integrated communications outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complex policy, investment, and technical issues into clear, accessible messages.

The Energy Security Corporation (ESC website) is a NSW government-backed clean energy investor with a clear public mandate: to accelerate investment in large-scale storage, networks, consumer energy resources (CER) and enabling infrastructure to support a reliable and secure electricity system for New South Wales.  Our role is to unlock private capital by co-investing in clean energy projects.  With flexible financing tools, we help close investment gaps and move priority projects forward.

Through targeted, catalytic investment, we are accelerating the delivery of critical energy projects and securing the electricity system New South Wales needs, now and into the future.
