We are after an all-round handyperson to support our team during staff leave periods and busy client booking times.

  • Casual opportunity based at the Sydney Academy of Sport at Narrabeen and Berry Sport and Recreation Centre
  • Casual pay rates start from $32.45 per hour plus casual loadings + super

About the role

As a Services Officer, you will carry out minor maintenance tasks, prepare our facilities for client bookings, and assist with day‑to‑day service delivery across the centre. You will work under general supervision and take responsibility for the quality of your own work and help ensure our centres offer a safe, welcoming and positive experiences for clients and visitors.

The casual Service Officer positions have been created to provide coverage during staff leave and to support Centre operations during busy periods of client bookings

About you

  • You bring a broad range of practical maintenance and handyperson skills along with an understanding of safe work practices.
  • You take pride in your work, follow tasks through to completion and communicate clearly with colleagues and clients.
  • You plan and prioritise your work effectively by organising tasks, managing your time well, and adapting to changing demands.
  • You identify issues early, consider available information, and take appropriate steps to resolve problems within your level of responsibility.
  • You consistently maintain a strong customer‑focused approach and confidently seek clarification when needed to ensure tasks are completed safely and to a high standard.

Essential Requirements

  • Current Class C driver’s licence
  • Obtain and maintain a Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012

All appointments will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a pre‑employment medical assessment prior to commencing duty, reference checks, and a National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014. Successful applicants will also need to undertake a hearing test (audiometric test) within the first three months of employment (baseline test), followed by a hearing test at least every two years. To be eligible for this position, you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, a permanent resident, or hold a valid Australian working visa for the duration of the appointment.
