The role

Cemeteries & Crematoria NSW (CCNSW) is seeking a Senior Policy & Project Officer to lead the development and delivery of complex policy initiatives and projects that support the regulation and strategic planning of the interment industry across NSW.

This role will manage end-to-end policy and project activities including research, analysis, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. You will prepare high-quality briefings and advice, contribute to ministerial and parliamentary processes, and engage with diverse stakeholders to achieve organisational outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading complex policy development and review
  • Managing multiple interconnected projects to time and budget
  • Preparing briefs, reports and correspondence for executive and ministerial audiences
  • Engaging with diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Supporting governance, risk and reporting processes

 

 

What you will bring to the role

  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex policy initiatives and projects within government or a regulatory environment
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret legislation, assess risks and develop evidence-based recommendations
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within tight timeframes
  • Excellent written communication skills, including preparation of briefs, reports and correspondence for senior audiences
  • Sound stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse groups
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with a proactive and accountable approach to work

 

What is an essential requirement:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or demonstrated experience across the full policy cycle, including development, implementation and review.
