  • Salary range $70,868 - $114,019 + Allowances
  • Multiple seasonal opportunities available across our 10 centres and an ongoing full-time opportunities available at our Lake Keepit Sport & Recreation Centre

 

About the role  

The Program Officer is responsible for planning and delivering outdoor education and recreation programs for a variety of sport, community and school groups. You will be responsible for the effective coordination of all program components, incl. ensuring program design and delivery are in line with current trends and operating standards in the sport and active recreation sector. You will also ensure all programs meet the requirements of the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998.   

You will also be responsible for safely managing any incidents and emergency situations that may occur during the program and also be required to undertake on-call responsibilities on a rostered basis during residential programs.

About you  

You’re energetic, adaptable, and thrive in the great outdoors. You have a knack for connecting with people - from school kids to community groups - and know how to tailor your approach to suit different needs. Safety is second nature to you, and you’re confident leading activities that challenge and inspire. You’re a team player who communicates clearly, stays calm under pressure, and brings a positive attitude to every program you run. 

Essential Requirements 

  • Degree in a relevant field or Certificate IV in Outdoor Recreation/Leadership with industry experience
  • Willingness to undertake a pre‑employment health assessment, and the ability to perform duties within a non‑continuous shift worker arrangement, including rostered shift work and on‑call duties during residential programs.
  • Obtain and Maintain a Valid Working with Children Check (as per the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012) and a current First Aid and CPR certification through the duration of the appointment
