Do you have a passion for creating quality open spaces that shape and support growing communities across New South Wales? We’re looking for a Senior Open Space Planner to join our Strategy & Design team; planning and coordinating a diverse range of significant landscape projects to ensure they meet strategic objectives and are executed to the highest standards.​

 

About the role

The Senior Open Space Planner will provide support to the Senior Manager, to lead specialist open space consultants and provide open space strategic planning and policy advice that will shape the development and delivery of high-quality open space across NSW. The role will focus on the delivery of the Transport Orientated Development open space program and deliver projects to the community. 

 

The role is critical in translating policy into practice, ensuring every project aligns with broader organisational goals for open space development.​ These projects stand as exemplars of innovation in landscape planning, design, delivery, and long-term management; reinforcing the Department’s commitment to creating high-quality, sustainable, and community-focused open spaces.

 

You will bring experience in the strategic planning and management of open space areas, project management, understanding of NSW Government processes and the delivery of policy and strategies in a government environment, proactive approach to the delivery of projects and programs, proven skills in the planning and preparation of reports, plans, strategies and recommendations for open space projects and programs, demonstrated skills in time management and the delivery of multiple projects concurrently, and critical and analytical skills in relation to policy issues and strategic planning for open space.

 

A degree in landscape architecture and/or urban planning or similar is essential.
