About the Opportunity
Our EnergyCo Legal team is currently seeking to appoint two Senior Legal Officers to our growing team of legal professionals at the forefront of NSW’s energy transition. As a Senior Legal Officer at EnergyCo, you’ll play a key role in supporting major infrastructure and reform projects under the NSW Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap and Network Infrastructure Strategy. EnergyCo Legal is a high performing team – the team was awarded ‘Best performance by a Team in Government at the 2025 Corporate Counsel Awards,  ‘In-house Team of the Year’ at the 2024 Australian Law Awards and has been shortlisted as a finalist in the ‘Government Team of the Year’ for the 2026 Corporate Counsel Awards.

You’ll provide high-quality legal advice on complex transactional, commercial, and regulatory matters, working closely with energy market bodies, private sector partners, and top-tier law firms. This is a rare opportunity to be part of some of the most exciting infrastructure work in the market, helping to shape the future of NSW’s energy system.

About You
You are a trusted legal advisor, with sound experience and ideally bring a strong understanding of the energy or infrastructure sectors. You offer expertise in energy, commercial, or administrative law, with demonstrated experience advising on regulatory and transactional matters relevant to the electricity industry—particularly within the context of government reform and legislative frameworks such as the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020 and National Electricity Law and Rules.

Analytical and solutions-focused, you excel at translating complex legal issues into practical advice that supports decision-making and drives outcomes. You’re confident working across all levels of government and with external stakeholders, contributing to major reform and infrastructure projects. Your collaborative style, sound judgment, and commitment to delivering high-quality legal support make you a valuable partner in advancing EnergyCo’s mission. If you are someone who is comfortable thinking on your feet in a fast paced, transactional environment that will require you to juggle multiple projects at the same time – we want to hear from you!

Essential Requirements

  • Admitted or qualified for admission as a Solicitor or Barrister in the Supreme Court of NSW and hold, or be eligible to hold, an NSW Practicing Certificate.
