  • Ongoing full-time time (35 hours per week) opportunity
  • Office location is Parramatta - hybrid working arrangements supported
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $152,677 to $167,562 + super

 

The Biodiversity and Heritage Regulator is seeking to appoint a Senior Team Leader Investigation to lead the strategy and operations for an investigation team that is responsible for investigation and enforcement of state-wide regulatory priorities and strategic response programs and issuing of statutory instruments.

In this role you provide expert guidance on complex investigations, manage legal and stakeholder interfaces to ensure sound and transparent regulatory outcomes, coordinate resources to support state-wide compliance priorities and drive continuous improvement. You will also prepare clear, concise reports and briefings on sensitive matters with significant operational or reputational impacts.

 

About You

You will operate with a significant level of autonomy, making day‑to‑day decisions on work priorities and workload management for both yourself and direct reports. You are accountable for the quality, integrity and accuracy of the advice provided and you will exercise delegated authority in line with DCCEEW policy and relevant legislation. You will influence and negotiate with key internal and external stakeholders on matters relating to investigations, enforcement, remediation and restoration to prevent or mitigate harm. You are also responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of state-wide strategic compliance activities.

 

Essential requirements

  • Current NSW driver's licence and ability and willingness to regularly travel throughout the state when required
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Satisfactory criminal records check
