About the organisation
Advanced Manufacturing Readiness Facility Pty Ltd (AMRF Co) was established in 2023 as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Bradfield Development Authority (BDA). AMRF Co’s purpose is to operate and manage the Advanced Manufacturing Readiness Facility, a collaborative, industry-led hub supporting a NSW-wide advanced manufacturing ecosystem located within the Western Sydney Aerotropolis, including:
- Driving the development and commercialisation of advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Boosting business growth, creating jobs, and enhancing workforce skills throughout the region.
- Fostering innovation in industrial and technological advancement.
The AMRF is designed to help businesses transform ideas into commercially viable products. It serves as a centre for forming partnerships, building solutions, scaling up operations, and bringing new products to market at volume.
As the home of Australia’s most comprehensive suite of advanced manufacturing technologies, the AMRF offers businesses access to state-of-the-art equipment and specialist expertise. This provides a low-risk pathway for companies to adopt new technologies, improving precision, productivity, reliability, and connectivity while delivering tangible returns on investment.
AMRF Co is structured as a proprietary company, with staff currently employed within the NSW public sector. Its governance and policy arrangements closely align with the frameworks used by the Bradfield Development Authority, including audit, risk management, and workplace health and safety.
Looking ahead, AMRF is expanding with the delivery of a second facility focused on advanced semiconductor packaging. The Board is being enlarged to provide strategic guidance, foster partnerships, and develop commercial pathways that strengthen capabilities across critical sectors such as aerospace, defence, advanced electronics and circular economy.
