Natural Resources Access Regulator (NRAR) enforces the NSW water laws and offers guidance and education to help water users comply. We strive to be an efficient and effective regulator that celebrates and reflects the diversity of the community we serve.
Working with NRAR provides a chance to make sure water is used lawfully so that all communities and the environment get a fair share.
Our NRAR team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Communications Officer to lead the design and delivery of strategic communication campaigns that support our regulatory priority projects and outreach work. Use your project management, strategic thinking and relationship skills to guide the campaign team and bring campaigns to life in ways that inform water users and drive voluntary compliance with the water rules.
Key accountabilities
- Deliver high impact, multi channel campaigns that advance regulatory priorities, achieve outreach goals and support behaviour change.
- Provide effective, risk aware communication strategies that meet stakeholder needs and clearly translate complex regulatory or technical information for target audiences.
- Ensure successful campaign delivery by managing planning and execution so objectives are met on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
- Build a high performing team by coaching and developing staff capability in strategy design, campaign planning and project management.
- Strengthen collaboration and influence by maintaining productive internal and external relationships that enable smooth delivery and campaign success.
- Improve performance through evaluation and insight, using monitoring and measurement to demonstrate impact and inform continuous improvement.
- Bring clarity to complex initiatives, establishing structure and focus that enables consistent, effective messaging and delivery.
Key challenges
- Managing complex, concurrent work across multiple campaigns and projects with competing timelines, priorities and stakeholder needs.
- Providing clear, strategic communication advice by translating complex or technical information and closely monitoring emerging issues in a dynamic stakeholder environment.
- Leading collaboration and delivery, including building strong relationships across teams and managing project staff to ensure high quality, on time outcomes.
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in communications/media/marketing or equivalent experience
