The role
In this role, you’ll be responsible for keeping NSW Planning’s digital content clear, accurate and easy to use. You’ll manage everything from editing and publishing content to maintaining the overall content roadmap, ensuring a seamless and customer‑centred online experience. You’ll also play a key role in an exciting project to refresh the current website for the NSW Planning—helping support the growth of housing across NSW by making planning information more accessible and intuitive for the community.
You’ll navigate a fast‑moving digital environment where priorities shift quickly, balancing frequent content updates with accessibility, usability and government standards. Along the way, you’ll solve complex technical challenges, translate detailed information into plain English, and provide expert guidance to stakeholders across the department. Your work will shape the end‑to‑end online customer journey, using insights and analytics to continually improve how people engage with the Planning website.

Senior Content Manager
What you will bring to the role
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to navigate complex challenges and adapt to evolving situations.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- Maintains meticulous attention to detail amidst high-volume workloads, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks and deliverables.
Key knowledge and experience
- Proficient in publishing using an Enterprise Content Management System eg: Drupal.
- Previous experience in designing life journeys ie Customer centric products and tools
- Strong understanding of web usability, SEO and information management standards
- Understanding of WCAG 2.0
- Previous experience in digital copywriting in different styles to suit varying audiences
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, along with an excellent grasp of the English language, grammar and attention to detail
- Proficient in JIRA and project management systems
