The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is looking for a highly organised, detail‑focused Safety & Wellbeing Officer to support the delivery of safety, wellbeing and psychosocial initiatives across DCCEEW. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys coordination, communication and being the “glue” that helps projects, campaigns and programs run smoothly.

You’ll work closely with a supportive team of safety and wellbeing specialists, helping turn good ideas into well‑run activities, clear resources and great user experiences for our people.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll provide hands‑on coordination and support across a range of safety and wellbeing activities, including:

  • Project & coordination support – Organising meetings, workshops and forums; maintaining project plans, trackers and calendars.
  • Intranet, documents & version control – Updating intranet content, templates, SOPs and document libraries for accuracy and consistency.
  • Campaigns, programs & events – Assisting with safety and wellbeing initiatives and coordinating regular wellbeing programs.
  • Logistics & stakeholder support – Coordinating workshops and forums, managing logistics and liaising with stakeholders.

You’ll also:

  • Draft briefings, communications and intranet updates for review
  • Respond to routine enquiries and escalate complex matters appropriately
  • Maintain simple dashboards and trackers

Projects you’ll support
You’ll contribute to a variety of initiatives, such as:

  • Safety & wellbeing campaigns and psychosocial awareness activities
  • Psychosocial risk pathway rollout, including new and updated resources
  • Peer Support Program, Leader Forums and CoP sessions
  • Routine wellbeing and safety programs delivered with external providers
  • Intranet refreshes and document library management

About you
You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Are highly organised, detail‑oriented and comfortable juggling priorities
  • Write clearly and confidently, with strong formatting skills
  • Are a confident user of Microsoft 365 (Teams, Planner, SharePoint, Outlook)
  • Enjoy coordinating logistics and supporting stakeholders
  • Pick up new systems and processes quickly
  • Value teamwork, service, accuracy and reliability
  • Bring knowledge or experience in WHS and/or wellbeing (or a strong interest in building it)
