About the role

Exciting opportunity to join our team as a casual at the Fitzroy Falls Visitor Centre. This role is responsible for providing professional customer service at the Visitor Centre on all aspects of national parks and the local region. Responsibilities include POS operation, cash handling, merchandising and providing visitors with information about parks and walks. This role will be on a casual basis within a 7 day rotating roster and includes working weekends, public holidays and peak periods such as school holidays and long weekends.

 

About You

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Experience in providing quality and courteous customer service in a professional manner; often dealing with simultaneous demands; requiring sound time management and the ability to have flexibility in availability, particularly during high visitation times.
  • Worked in retail or hospitality previously, engaging directly with customers and supporting/resolving their queries with an ability to problem solve and enjoy building a rapport.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with customers, stakeholders, volunteers and staff across multiple Teams and deliver accurate, concise information.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and to make decisions using initiative and within agreed procedures and policies.
  • Exemplary teamwork skills and the ability to work amicably with other team members.
  • Demonstrated sound cash handling skills and point of sale experience.

 

Essential requirements -

  • Experience in a retail or service environment including dealing with customer enquiries in a frontline service area, cash handling procedures and using digital software.
  • A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) is an essential requirement for this role. The role has been identified as requiring this check in line with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
  • Ability to work weekends and public holidays.
  • A current Australian driver’s licence and first aid certificate or willingness to obtain one.
