The Solution Architect plays a critical role in designing fit-for-purpose application and technology architectures that translate business needs into practical, secure and sustainable solutions. The role partners with stakeholders across the Office of Sport to guide solution design, support delivery and ensure alignment with organisational strategy, cyber security requirements and NSW Government standards.
The Venue, Centre & Customer Management Program is a whole‑of‑agency initiative designed to offer the Office of Sport a unified and customer‑centric end-to-end solution that manages every interaction across venues, centres, events and programs.
Responsibilities
- Assess and interpret business requirements to develop solution architectures that align with organisational objectives and strategic priorities.
- Partner with stakeholders (including Business Analysts, Program Managers, SMEs and vendors) to design application, data, integration and security architectures.
- Produce and maintain current-state and future-state architecture artefacts to support decision-making and solution planning.
- Provide expert technical advice on solution options, risks, dependencies and recommended approaches across programs and projects.
- Support successful implementation by ensuring solution designs are clearly communicated and consistently applied throughout delivery.
- Contribute to the development of architectural standards, guidelines and patterns to uplift organisational design practices.
- Participate in governance forums and present architecture recommendations to ensure solutions are robust, compliant and aligned.
- Identify system and integration interdependencies to reduce duplication, manage risk and support long-term technology strategy.
You are an experienced Solution Architect with strong technical and stakeholder engagement capabilities, and a proven ability to translate complex business requirements into practical technology solutions. You bring deep knowledge across applications, integration, data and cloud environments, and are confident working across multiple delivery streams in complex environments.
You are a clear communicator who can engage both technical and non-technical audiences, provide sound advice and influence outcomes. You thrive in a collaborative environment, bring a strategic mindset and are committed to delivering secure, scalable and customer-focused solutions aligned with organisational goals.
