  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $84,659 to $92,701 + super

NRAR enforces the NSW water laws and offers guidance and education to help water users comply.

Our National Resources Access Regulator (NRAR) team is currently seeking to appoint a Project Support Officer to contribute to enabling and encouraging people to actively comply with NSW natural resources laws, through providing a range of support and coordination activities for the delivery of key strategic projects intended to deter illegal activities and enable sustained voluntary compliance with water law, using direct and indirect education pathways.

Key accountabilities

Contribute to the design and delivery of innovative education projects to improve voluntary compliance, reducing the risks of unlawful activity by:

  • Providing project administrative support and records management for the team, maintaining business systems, databases and calendars and supporting others in the use of the same
  • Assisting with the preparation of timely and accurate internal/external reports and correspondence relevant to the education team’s activities
  • Providing support to internal stakeholders in the design, management and delivery of education elements in NRARs regulatory priority programs and initiatives to maximise the effectiveness of compliance and enforcement activity and outcomes.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders in the collection and recording of appropriate community behavioural and performance data to allow analysis that can feed improvement in regulatory approach and implementation.
  • Liaising with key stakeholders and provide administrative support to working groups, committees and consultations to facilitate exchange of information that supports project delivery.

Key challenges

  • Delivering a range of project support services, given tight deadlines, limited resources and the need to manage competing priorities
  • Identifying and implementing collaborative administrative solutions to help track, record and report on the teams activities
  • Maintaining awareness of NRAR’s purpose and functions, understanding relevant procedures, legislation, regulations etc, to assist the provision of a high-quality project support to internal stakeholders.

Key knowledge and experience

  • Experience in providing a range of clerical, administrative and general support services in a high volume environment
  • Awareness of NRARs functions within water management legislation
  • Knowledge of project management principles from concept design to delivery and evaluation
  • Experienced and confident communicating with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

Essential requirements

  • A current NSW Driver's Licence and a willingness to drive to remote locations which may include overnight stays and occasional weekend work.
