Sydney Olympic Park is Wangal Country and is a mix of land uses that include parklands and nature reserves, environmental conservation, public recreation, sports and events, residential and business uses. The role
The Manager Procurement plays a critical role in the procurement lifecycle – from planning and sourcing to contract and risk management, you’ll be responsible for ensuring our department secures the right goods and services in a compliant, efficient and strategically aligned way. You’ll drive the implementation of procurement policies and systems, guide complex and high‑value projects, provide authoritative advice to the business, and build capability across the organisation.
This is a demanding position that sits at the centre of competing deadlines, shifting organisational needs and a complex legislative and policy environment. You’ll need to influence stakeholders, motivate suppliers, and find smarter ways to meet procurement requirements while balancing commercial, sustainability and community expectations. We’re looking for an experienced all‑rounder who brings deep expertise across every stage of procurement and can confidently navigate a large, dynamic and politically sensitive environment while supporting a small team.

What you will bring to the role
- Deep expertise in end‑to‑end procurement, including planning, sourcing, contract management and risk, with the ability to guide complex, high‑value and politically sensitive projects.
- Strong understanding of government procurement frameworks, accreditation requirements and compliance obligations, with the ability to translate policy into practical, organisation‑wide processes.
- Skilled at navigating competing priorities and high‑pressure environments, balancing commercial, sustainability and community considerations while maintaining high standards of probity.
- Ability to build procurement capability across the organisation, coaching teams, uplifting processes and promoting innovative, efficient and compliant procurement practices.
- Proven leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve shared goals.
- Capable of driving outcomes while effectively involving stakeholders throughout the process, fostering collaboration and buy‑in.
Key knowledge and experience
- Substantial experience in the planning, development, sourcing, contract and risk management activities of procurement.
