The Regulatory and Landscape Mapping team locates nature in NSW so the people of the state can value it. The role also leads the development of spatial assessment of proposed policy changes and current and future land use change.
In this pivotal leadership role, you will design and deliver high-quality, cost-effective scientific projects aligned with the DCCEEW Strategic Plan, while driving innovation in landscape mapping for both internal and external stakeholders. You will provide expert scientific advice, oversee efficient project and case management systems, while being responsive to often urgent requests for complex spatial insights pitched to non-technical audiences.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead an existing and highly effective team with a positive culture which makes a meaningful contribution to biodiversity and land management outcomes in NSW.

Comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy, you are skilled at setting priorities, delegating effectively, and providing timely, evidence-based advice on emerging issues.
You thrive on close relationships with key partners, including other technical functions, customer services and external regulators or NGOs, to identify significant opportunities or problems and work with them, including considering innovative approaches, while maintaining core datasets, tools and maps.
