  • Salary relative to experience and ranges from $124,322 pa to $138,494 pa + super 


The Ministerial Services Branch (MSB) within DCCEEW is seeking for highly motivated Senior Ministerial Liaison Officer’s to join our dynamic team. These are fantastic opportunities to contribute to high-profile areas including climate change, energy, environment and heritage.

About the role
As a Senior Ministerial Liaison Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, timely advice to Ministers and DCCEEW executives. You will:

  • draft, coordinate, and review ministerial briefings and correspondence
  • provide clear, risk-assessed advice on complex and sensitive issues
  • collaborate across the Department and with other government stakeholders
  • support decision-making on initiatives that shape NSW’s environmental and energy landscape.

This role offers a unique view across governance, public policy, and program delivery, with strong career development pathways within the NSW public sector.

About you
You are a confident communicator and strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You bring:

  • strong writing and editing skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy
  • excellent organisational skills to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • sound judgement, diplomacy, and analytical thinking to navigate sensitive issues

Key knowledge and experience

  • Experience in providing high-level advice on complex, sensitive, or controversial issues to senior management or ministerial level.
  • Sound understanding of the machinery of Government, the policy process and relevant legislation.
