The role
Senior Vendor Governance Officer role focuses on establishing and running effective vendor governance so digital vendors consistently deliver trusted, high‑quality services for the department. It strengthens accountability, manages risk and drives value from vendor partnerships, while supporting innovation that aligns with organisational objectives and protects customers and the wider community.
The role operates in a complex, fast‑paced vendor environment with competing priorities and varying levels of governance maturity. It works closely with relationship owners to embed clear governance expectations, analyse performance and risk, address issues early, and provide practical insights and reporting that support sound decision‑making, continuous improvement and strong assurance across key vendor engagements.
This role also presents an exciting opportunity to join a newly established team, giving you a genuine opportunity to help shape how the function works from the ground up. Alongside supporting day‑to‑day activities, you’ll contribute to building fit‑for‑purpose frameworks and helping set strong foundations for how digital governance is delivered into the future.
