The role
We’re looking for Education and Community Programs Officers to join our passionate team, delivering engaging and inclusive education programs across Greater Sydney Parklands. This hands‑on role focuses primarily on delivering two key programs — early childhood education and programs for people with additional needs — designed to build connection to nature through curiosity, exploration and shared experiences.

You’ll deliver and help develop both formal and non‑formal programs, working directly with participants, carers, educators and community groups. While you’ll be based in Centennial Park, you’ll also have the flexibility to support programs across all other parklands within the Greater Sydney Parklands estate when required, adapting to different audiences, environments and program needs.

What you will bring to the role

We’re looking for inclusive, adaptable educators who are confident working with diverse communities. You will bring:

  • Experience delivering education or community programs for early childhood audiences and people with additional needs
  • A practical understanding of inclusive education approaches, with a tertiary qualification in education and  inclusive education, or a related field considered highly desirable
  • Confidence delivering programs in outdoor or non‑traditional learning environments, with a strong focus on participant safety and wellbeing
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage children, carers, educators and community stakeholders
  • A flexible, proactive approach, with the ability to manage multiple programs and adapt delivery to different park settings and participant needs
  • Willingness to work across multiple park locations and outside standard hours when programs require


Desirable experience

  • Tertiary qualification in special education or related field
  • Early childhood education and nature play
  • Experience delivering programs for people with disability or additional needs
  • Outdoor, environmental, and nature basededucation
  • Program facilitation in parks or  nature‑based learning settings


What is an essential requirement:

  • Ability to work outside of normal working hours and on weekends if required.
  • Ability to lift 15kg several times a day.
  • A Working with Children Check (WWCC) is an essential requirement for this role.  The role has been identified as requiring a check in keeping with the Child Protection (Working With Children) Act 2012
  • Current, or ability to obtain a First Aid qualification or equivalent.
  • Current NSW driver’s license.
