DCCEEW is seeking a Senior Advisor, Strategy & Planning to play a pivotal role in coordinating and guiding how we plan, prioritise and invest in our digital, data and IT initiatives across the department.
As the Senior Advisor, Strategy & Planning, you will lead the coordination of DCCEEW’s IT investment planning and project prioritisation processes. You’ll provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders, support robust governance, and bring together complex inputs to create a clear, evidence‑based view of our investment pipeline.
You will also play a key role in shaping and embedding our strategy portfolio:
- Data and digital strategy
- IT Strategy
- AI strategy
This will include enhancing transparency, improving decision‑making and driving better outcomes across the organisation. You will be involved in refreshing these key artefacts over time.
About You
You’re a confident, analytical professional who can see the big picture while managing detail. You’re comfortable working across diverse stakeholder groups, explaining complex concepts clearly, and influencing outcomes through strong relationships and evidence‑based insights.
You’ll bring:
- Experience in IT strategy, planning or investment prioritisation, ideally in a complex environment.
- 2-3 yrs Management consulting / Advisory experience
- A solid understanding of project management principles, governance and reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
- A proactive, organised approach and a commitment to delivering high‑quality outcomes.
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience
- Mid – Advanced level proficiency across the MS365 tools stack ( PPT,EXCEL, Power BI, MS Lists )
