- Salary ranges from $129,464 to $142,665 pa plus super and leave loading
EnergyCo NSW is spearheading the transition to renewable energy to deliver clean electricity to the people of NSW as coal-fired power stations near closure.
Our EnergyCo NSW Community Benefits team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Policy and Project Officer.
The Strategic Policy & Project Officer role is responsible for managing and coordinating complex projects that deliver high‑quality strategic policy, legislative advice and infrastructure‑related work to inform decision‑making for the Energy Corporation of NSW.
The role leads end‑to‑end project planning, development and implementation across multiple, interconnected initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, to quality standards and in line with established project management methodologies.
Working closely with senior executives, the Minister’s Office and a wide range of government and industry stakeholders, the role provides evidence‑based analysis and trusted advice on energy policy and regulatory frameworks. It requires strong judgement, stakeholder engagement and writing skills to prepare clear, timely briefings and recommendations, manage consultations, and support informed decision‑making in a fast‑paced and high‑profile policy environment.
- You are an experienced project and delivery professional with a strong track record of leading and coordinating complex, high priority initiatives in a government or policy driven environment. You bring well-developed project management capability, with demonstrated experience planning, overseeing and delivering multiple, interconnected projects end-to-end, managing schedules, budgets, risks and dependencies while balancing competing priorities and tight timeframes.
- You have experience supporting the delivery of grant funded or program-based initiatives, including contributing to program design, funding processes, assessment, reporting and performance monitoring. You are comfortable working within governance, assurance and compliance frameworks and can translate program objectives into practical delivery actions.
- Experience in telecommunications or infrastructure programs is highly regarded, but not essential. You are a confident communicator with strong written skills and have demonstrated experience preparing clear, delivery focused advice, briefings and reports for senior executives and Ministers, while working effectively with a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, including managing schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies and multiple stakeholders.
- Experience supporting program or grant delivery, including contributing to funding processes, assessments, reporting, performance tracking and working within governance, probity and assurance frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise, delivery focused advice, briefings and reports for senior executives, Ministers and external partners
EnergyCo plays a pivotal role in the NSW Government’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap, which aims to transform the state’s electricity system into one that is cheap, clean, and reliable. As Infrastructure Planner under the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020, EnergyCo is responsible for leading the delivery of the State’s first five Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) and the first two priority transmission infrastructure projects (PTIPs), which are located in the Central-West Orana, New England, South West, Hunter-Central Coast, and Illawarra regions. We work closely with communities, investors, and industry to investigate, plan, recommend and coordinate generation, storage and network infrastructure projects.
