The Development Coordination Authority (DCA) has been established to strengthen how NSW Government agencies work together within the development assessment and post consent systems. Acting as a central coordination point for agency advice, the Authority will streamline referral processes, resolve issues earlier and deliver clearer, more consistent input to consent authorities—supporting faster, better-informed planning outcomes across NSW. Additionally, the Authority delivers proactive and direct support to industry as they navigate post consent processes in partnership with state agencies, local government and other bodies.

Joining the DCA presents a unique opportunity to help shape and embed a new operating model for planning coordination, contributing directly to system reform and the delivery of housing, infrastructure and sustainable communities across the State.

The role

This role supports approved developments to move from consent to construction and completion by helping identify and remove post‑consent barriers. Working across multiple cases, it assists with proactive engagement with industry to identify the progress of housing projects of all scales, case management activities, responds to emerging issues, and contributes analysis, research and advice that supports better post‑consent outcomes and more efficient delivery.

Operating in a fast‑paced and changing environment, the role balances competing priorities while translating complex planning information into clear, practical advice. It involves working closely with internal teams, developers and external stakeholders, preparing clear written material, maintaining probity, and supporting continuous improvement through evidence‑based insights and collaboration.

What you will bring to the role

• Understanding of the NSW planning, assessment and approval environments including relevant legislation, policy, regulations, standards and codes of practice.
• Understanding of NSW government processes and policy making
• Ability to manage varied tasks in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities.
• Strong skills in interpreting complex information and communicating it clearly and concisely for a range of audiences.
• Sound understanding of probity and the ability to provide advice with integrity and professionalism.

What is an essential requirement:

• Degree qualification in a related relevant discipline.
