  • Senior Business Intelligence Analyst (Clerk Grade 9-10)
  • Temporary (Up to 30 June 2027) full-time (35 hours per week) opportunity
  • Office location is Parramatta - hybrid working supported
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $129,464 to $142,665 + super

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to join the Planning, Offsets & Threatened Species & Ecosystems (POTSE) Division within the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of analytics and reporting solutions that support sound decision-making across complex environmental and regulatory programs.

As the Domain Data Lead, you will:

  • Lead the design, build and optimisation of analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, delivering reliable and high-quality data products.
  • Oversee data pipelines, dataflows and semantic models to support timely, accurate and consistent reporting.
  • Manage and mentor a small team of BI and data professionals, building capability and promoting good practice.
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable insights.
  • Contribute to the broader enterprise data strategy by embedding standards, improving data trust and supporting continuous improvement.

This role suits someone who enjoys combining technical leadership with stakeholder engagement and has a strong focus on delivering value from data.

About You

You are a confident and collaborative data professional who can influence outcomes across a complex organisation.

You bring:

  • Strong experience designing and delivering analytics and BI solutions in modern cloud-based data platforms.
  • The ability to translate complex data concepts into clear insights for non-technical audiences.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience mentoring and guiding BI or data professionals.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities.
