The role
This role is about bringing some of NSW’s most exciting large‑scale events to life in the parks of Greater Sydney Parklands. You’ll identify, secure and facilitate major commercial and community events — from market‑leading music festivals to large, diverse community celebrations — helping grow and expand the parklands’ major events program while achieving revenue and strategic objectives.
You’ll work closely with event organisers, promoters and internal teams to plan and deliver complex outdoor events end‑to‑end. This includes negotiating licences, overseeing operational delivery, managing risk, crowds and logistics, and anticipating issues before they arise. It’s a fast‑paced, high‑profile role that requires strong judgement, confidence working at scale, and the ability to balance commercial outcomes with exceptional visitor and community experiences.

What you will bring to the role
- Extensive experience managing major outdoor events in public or large‑scale venues, including festivals, concerts or large community events
- Strong capability engaging with event organisers, promoters and partners, building trusted relationships and positioning venues to attract high‑profile events
- Proven experience leading complex event operations, including crowd management, traffic and transport, security, overlays and emergency planning
- Experience leading and overseeing strategic event-related projects.
- The ability to think strategically and proactively, identifying risks, constraints and opportunities early and solving problems before they escalate
- Experience managing people, including leading event teams, setting priorities, and supporting staff performance in high‑pressure environments
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with confidence working across internal teams, government partners, community groups and commercial clients
- A results‑driven, adaptable approach, comfortable managing multiple events concurrently and working outside standard hours when required
What is an essential requirement:
- Ability to work and/or be contactable outside of normal work hours, during holiday periods and on weekends.
- Hold a valid Drivers License
