  • Salary ranges from $99,938 to $110,271 + super & leave loading. 
  • Temporary Fulltime Opportunity until 16 April 2027 
  • Based at Sydney Olympic Park location – flexible work arrangements will be considered. 

 

About the role 

As a Policy Officer within the Office of Sport, you will play a key role in supporting the development of highquality policy initiatives that strengthen the sport and active recreation sector across NSW. You will coordinate and undertake policy research, analysis and advice to inform decisionmaking and contribute to Government and Agency priorities. The role works closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to support policy development, consultation, implementation and reporting. 

This position sits within the Policy and Programs team, which leads the development of NSW sport policy, strategy, insights and partnerships. As part of this team, you will help shape initiatives that enhance the lives of people across NSW through sport and active recreation. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Undertake research and analysis to inform policy development and support evidencebased decision making. 
  • Prepare and contribute to policy documents including discussion papers, briefs, submissions and reports. 
  • Review and draft policy advice to ensure alignment with organisational and Government policy directions. 

 

About You  

You are a proactive and collaborative policy professional who enjoys working in a dynamic environment with competing priorities. You bring strong analytical skills, sound judgement and the ability to translate complex information into clear, practical advice. You communicate effectively with diverse audiences and build productive relationships across teams and stakeholder groups. 

You are comfortable working with ambiguity, adapting quickly when circumstances change, and contributing to solutions. You write fluently in plain English, think critically, and approach challenges with initiative and resilience.

 

Essential Requirements 

  • Current Class C drivers licence 
  • Obtain and maintain a Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
