The Advanced Manufacturing Research Facility (AMRF) is searching for a Business Development Specialist who thrives at the intersection of innovation, industry engagement, and strategic growth.
What you’ll do
- Drive revenue growth by implementing targeted business development strategies aligned to KPIs and AMRF’s long‑term sustainability goals.
- Champion innovation in how we identify, pursue, and close new business—negotiating contracts and securing deals that elevate AMRF’s market presence.
- Leverage CRM insights to manage relationships, track pipeline performance, and optimise conversion rates.
- Identify and analyse new markets, assess risks and opportunities, and manage key accounts with a strategic, long‑term mindset.
- Partner with clients through consultative solution‑selling—uncovering needs, shaping value‑adding proposals, and aligning opportunities with AMRF’s strategic objectives.
- Develop deep product knowledge to prepare compelling proposals, quotes, and lead contract negotiations that maximise revenue.
- Craft high‑quality reports, briefings, and correspondence that support informed decision‑making and strengthen stakeholder confidence.
- Build strong relationships with clients and senior executives, acting as a trusted point of contact and ensuring exceptional engagement.
- Apply strategic grant writing expertise to secure funding that advances AMRF’s mission and capabilities.
- Bring curiosity and adaptability—manufacturing or technical experience is welcome but not required.

What you will bring to the role
- Sound understanding of the business development and investment process
- Understanding of financial reports and key factors driving economic growth
- Proven success in a new business development role in a competitive market, ideally in the industrial or manufacturing space selling services.
What is an essential requirement:
- Tertiary qualifications in business / economics / engineering or relevant degree and/or equivalent professional experience
- Current NSW Driver Licence and ability to travel across NSW and interstate where required
