  • Data Specialist MS Fabric (Clerk Grade 7-8)
  • Temporary (Up to Date 30 June 2027) full-time (35 hours per week) opportunity
  • Office location is Parramatta - other NSW locations may be considered through negotiation. Hybrid working arrangements are supported.
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $113,574 to $125,720 + super

 

 

Data and Information management team is currently seeking to appoint a Microsoft Fabric Data Specialist to deliver high‑quality data ingestion and monitoring to support evidence‑based decision‑making across the Biodiversity Offsets Scheme. In this role, you will design, develop and maintain Microsoft Fabric data pipelines, models and business intelligence solutions. You will ensure data quality, integrity and governance standards are met while working closely with business and technical stakeholders to data products meet analytics and reporting needs. You will provide expert technical advice on Microsoft Fabric capabilities, support data migration and integration activities, and contribute to the continuous improvement of data platforms, processes and documentation in line with NSW Government standards. This is an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, supporting critical environmental and planning outcomes through reliable, timely and well‑governed data solutions.

 

About You

You are a skilled data professional with strong ETL and data monitoring capabilities, and a proven ability to work with stakeholders to deliver effective data solutions. You bring:

  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining Microsoft Fabric or Data Factory pipelines and ETL processes (or equivalent platforms)
  • Experience designing data models for downstream reporting and business intelligence consumption
  • Strong understanding of data quality, governance and metadata management practices
  • Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into clear, fit‑for‑purpose data solutions
  • Experience providing technical support, troubleshooting issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across technical and non‑technical teams
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience in data, analytics or a related field

 

Key knowledge and experience

  • Demonstrated experience:
  • in developing and maintaining Microsoft Data Factory pipelines, notebooks and dataflows (or equivalent on other platforms).
  • creating data models for downstream business intelligence consumption
  • working with multiple internal and external stakeholders to meet business requirements while ensuring technical delivery meets best practice
  • Demonstrated database experience developing views, stored procedures and functions. 

Essential requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated experience in the field.
