You’ll develop clear, evidence-based reports, briefings and insights, collaborate closely with internal teams and external agencies, and contribute to intelligence-led projects that identify trends, risks and opportunities in water resources regulation in NSW.
Working in a collaborative, purpose-driven team, you’ll play a key role in embedding intelligence into day-to-day decision-making, influencing regulatory priorities, and supporting initiatives that strengthen compliance and deliver better environmental outcomes for NSW communities.

Strong critical thinking and investigative research skills are essential, along with experience synthesising information from multiple sources to identify trends, risks and regulatory priorities. Exposure to water, environmental or natural resources regulation (or a similar compliance-focused environment) will be highly regarded, as well as familiarity with intelligence-led frameworks and best-practice analytical approaches.
You’ll also be a confident communicator and collaborator, able to present complex insights in a clear and compelling way through written reports, briefings and stakeholder presentations. Success in this role requires strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to partner effectively across teams and with external stakeholders to influence decision-making and embed intelligence into operations. A proactive mindset, sound judgement, adaptability and a commitment to integrity will be key, alongside the ability to manage competing priorities and contribute to a high-performing, purpose-driven team environment.
