  • Work on innovative, market-facing initiatives influencing policy and program design
  • Temporary Full-time (35 hours per week) opportunity until 30 June 2027 with the possibility of extension
  • Based in Parramatta NSW, hybrid working will be supported
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $134,421 to $148,239 pa superannuation

 

Be part of a dynamic team leading the NSW Government’s Business Decarbonisation Program. This program supports medium to large businesses to reduce energy use and emissions—ranging from understanding on-site energy consumption, to assessing technologies like heat pumps, through to long-term net zero planning.

 

We are seeking a highly capable Senior Project Officer to lead the development, delivery and continuous improvement of innovative initiatives that drive sustainability, climate action, and net zero outcomes.

 

In this role, you will design and deliver a market-facing data initiative that will inform future policy and program design. You will combine strong project management capability with technical expertise to ensure project integrity, while working closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to drive outcomes.

 

You will also contribute to broader program workstreams, including the design and delivery of grants and associated initiatives.

About You

Our team is dynamic, collaborative, and deeply committed to supporting NSW businesses in their transition to net zero emissions. We are looking for a passionate, proactive self-starter who thrives on collaboration and delivering meaningful impact.

 

You will bring:

  • At least 5 years’ experience delivering projects or consulting in energy efficiency, electrification, renewable energy, or sustainability
  • A technical degree (e.g., engineering, science or similar)
  • Understanding of commercial and industrial energy systems, including equipment such as boilers, compressors and chillers, and electrification pathways
  • Strong project management capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to deliver outcomes on time and within budget
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences and negotiate effective outcomes

 

Essential Requirements

 

  • Sound knowledge of the operational requirements for successful delivery of sustainability and decarbonisation projects
  • Proven ability to engage stakeholders to drive action and deliver sustainability outcomes
  • Experience in delivering projects and ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, and to quality standards
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
