Join our team and shape your world in a workplace that empowers you to do your best work and build a meaningful career. In this role, you will contribute to shaping lives and communities across NSW, while shaping your own career. You will enjoy flexible work options, varied and impactful projects, and a vibrant, diverse team culture built on collaboration, inclusion and support. We are creating a workplace where everyone belongs and where you can balance work, life and wellbeing.

At the heart of the New South Wales (NSW) planning system, the Planning Group takes centre stage. Driven by the NSW Government’s unwavering commitment to tackling the critical housing issue, we provide essential support and strategic guidance.  The Planning Land Use Strategy, Housing and Infrastructure (PLUSHI) teams are the driving force behind the Department's strategic planning, policy, rezoning, and infrastructure projects, all aimed at making New South Wales a better place to live.

This role is focused on delivering place-based precinct planning outcomes that support urban renewal and transformation. It involves managing projects end-to-end—from shaping place strategies and preparing rezoning proposals, to coordinating budgets, consultants and stakeholder engagement—while providing clear, timely advice to leaders to help resolve complex cross-government planning and infrastructure challenges.

You will be balancing competing priorities and stakeholder interests, and simplifying complex technical information into clear, accessible communication. It also involves preparing robust planning frameworks that respond to housing, employment, transport and environmental needs, while contributing to ongoing improvements in team processes, systems and ways of working.
