About the role

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) has a unique opportunity for a Volunteer Officer to work as part of the team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage. 

 

As a Volunteer Officer, you will contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of NPWS volunteer programs. You’ll work closely with staff, community members, and peak volunteer organisations to build sustainable, best-practice programs that support conservation outcomes and enhance volunteer engagement.

 

About You

You are a proactive and collaborative professional with a passion for community engagement and environmental outcomes. You bring:

 

  • Experience in program coordination, community engagement, or volunteer management
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to develop resources, training, and frameworks
  • Analytical skills to monitor, evaluate, and improve program outcomes
  • A solutions-focused mindset with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.

 

Essential requirements

  • Extensive demonstrated experience in volunteer management, knowledge and understanding of volunteering for the environment.
  • Experience in volunteer training development, delivery and systems.
  • Current NSW driver’s license.
