The Senior Security Analyst provides technical and operational support in guiding how the Department detects, investigates, and responds to cyber threats. You will help set direction for threat hunting, detection engineering, and threat intelligence, ensuring monitoring capabilities evolve to address emerging risks. You will work with the team through the full incident lifecycle and drive continuous improvement of playbooks, Standard Operating Procedures, and response processes to strengthen detection quality and response effectiveness.
Day to day, you will navigate a fast-changing threat landscape, improving how critical systems feed into monitoring and detection. You also work closely with business teams, refine detection strategies, and keep the team focused on delivering accurate, timely responses to complex security events.

Key Knowledge and Experience
- Demonstrated experience using SIEM, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and email security tools.
- Experience conducting advanced threat hunting and analysing security events for indicators of compromise and emerging threats.
- Experience supporting cyber incident response, including identification, triage, escalation and mitigation.
- Experience evaluating event and incident metrics to identify trends, anomalies and opportunities for process improvement.
- Strong Knowledge of cyber threats, attack techniques and adversary behaviours, with the ability to apply this insight to strengthen monitoring, detection and incident response activities.
