  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $149,739 to $173,174 + super

Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SOPA) is seeking a Senior Manager, Precinct Operations to provide strong operational leadership and strategic direction for one of Sydney’s most significant sporting, entertainment and community precincts. This critical leadership role will ensure Sydney Olympic Park operates safely, efficiently and effectively every day, while also preparing the precinct for future growth, major events and evolving community expectations.

 

You will lead a dedicated operations team across safety, security, traffic and transport, parking, major events, emergency preparedness, service delivery and risk management. Working across a complex, high-profile precinct, you will translate strategic priorities into practical operational outcomes, strengthen governance and assurance, and ensure services are delivered to a consistently high standard. The role is regularly called upon to provide strategic advice to the Director, Precinct Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement and the Chief Executive Officer on matters that affect precinct operations, risk, public safety, stakeholder feedback and long-term planning.

 

As a senior leader, you will bring people together, make sound and timely decisions, and build trusted relationships with internal teams, delivery partners, government agencies, venues and stakeholders. You will play a key role in shaping operational planning for major projects, infrastructure initiatives and precinct development, ensuring day-to-day decisions support long-term safety, resilience, sustainability and visitor experience outcomes.

What you will bring to the role

  • Lead the development and delivery of integrated precinct operations strategies to optimise safety, security, traffic and event outcomes across a complex and high-demand environment.
  • Strategic advice on precinct development, infrastructure initiatives to influence design and planning outcomes that support long-term operational sustainability and public safety.
  • Oversee governance frameworks and assurance mechanisms to ensure fulfilment of statutory obligations as a landowner and roads authority and strengthen audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Shape and govern whole-of-precinct event operations to align event activity with long-term precinct strategy, enabling safe, coordinated delivery while optimising operational sustainability and community outcomes.
  • Lead organisation preparedness for emergency and crisis management to strengthen resilience, response capability and recovery outcomes in line with legislative and best practice requirements.
  • Oversee strategic contract and service delivery arrangements to optimise provider performance, value and innovation in support of precinct outcomes.
  • Optimise financial and resource management across operational portfolios to ensure sustainable service delivery, cost efficiency and achievement of financial and organisational targets.

 

What is an essential requirement:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or equivalent significant experience
  • Current Australian Driver Licence
