The Dept of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Business & Project Advisor to provide a high level of business and financial advisory services. This role is focused on day-to-day financial advisory support and/or take the lead in implementing special projects of Business Advisory that enhance budgeting, reporting and financial analytics such as dashboards.
About the role
The Senior Business Advisor provides support to the Energy Climate Change and Sustainability Group within DCCEEW. It takes the lead role in providing business and financial advisory services for assigned divisions, including internal budgeting and forecasting, labour analytics, capital reporting and planning, divisional management reporting, business case development and development of risk and savings plans and supports program delivery through improvements on financial systems and reporting, processes and budget performance analysis.
About You
Utilise your experience monitoring conflicting demands and providing accurate and complete financial information within tight deadlines. We are looking for experience in collaborating with multiple stakeholders with both financial and non- financial background to meet the delivery of our business outcomes.
The ideal candidate will bring the following skills:
- Attention to detail, high level of commitment, can do attitude and can work under pressure
- Expertise in management reporting, budgeting and finance business partnering role
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong analytics background in finance environment
Essential Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting/business or extensive demonstrated experience
- Eligibility for membership of a recognised professional accounting body such as CPA Australia or Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia
