  • Parramatta CBD and Centennial Park office locations with hybrid working currently supported
  • TRP from $218K to $243K including superannuation, commensurate with experience  

 

What’s in it for me?

The Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) is seeking a visionary executive to lead our strategy, design and delivery of Greater Sydney’s iconic urban parklands that balance community needs, environmental outcomes and the deliver the long-term vision of Greater Sydney Parklands.

 

The role

The Director, Strategy, Design and Delivery leads the delivery of strategies and key programs, including plans of management and capital works delivery, to provide an appropriate balance between various land uses to achieve Greater Sydney’s Parklands objectives to create world-class parklands to meet the needs of the diverse communities of Greater Sydney.

You will lead a fast-paced team to deliver, implement and monitor innovative and comprehensive strategies and programs aimed at preparing and fulfilling the plans of management for each park.

You will be big picture thinking and passionate about parklands. In this interesting and varied role, you will be an expert at building effective relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.

At its core, this role is about finding the right balance - across planning, environment, heritage, design and delivery - and shaping practical and outcomes focussed strategies and programs that can be delivered efficiently to program and budget in a complex and often competing environment.

 

Day to day, you will:

  • Lead major planning and capital works programs, from setting direction through to delivery
  • Inspire, lead and support a multidisciplinary team
  • Work closely with stakeholders to bring people together and move projects forward in line with allocated budgets and timeframes
  • Provide clear, high-quality advice in complex environments

Essential requirements

  • Degree qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent relevant experience.

Greater Sydney Parklands Greater Sydney’s urban parks agency managing over 6000ha of public open space, $4 billion in public assets, and around 40 million visits per year to Greater Sydney’s iconic urban parklands.

In partnership with communities, state and federal government agencies, and local councils, it champions the NSW Government’s 50 Year Vision for Greater Sydney’s Open Space and Parklands to achieve expanded and connected greenspace for Greater Sydney.

Greater Sydney Parklands currently brings together in a combined administration four parks’ Trusts: Greater Sydney Parklands Trust, the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust, Parramatta Park Trust, and Western Sydney Parklands Trust, as well as the parklands of Callan Park and Fernhill Estate.
