  • Project Officers (Environment Officer Class 7)
  • Multiple roles available
  • Temporary (1 May 2027) full-time (35 hours per week) (Animal Research Ethics)
  • 2 x Ongoing roles – full-time (35 hours per week) (Biodiversity Licensing & Programs)
  • Roles are based in Parramatta – other locations can be at negotiation across NSW, hybrid working supported
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $109,102 to $120,542 + super

 Our Biodiversity and Heritage Regulator team is currently seeking to appoint three Project Officers to support a range of biodiversity licensing and animal research ethics programs. Working across diverse projects and stakeholders, you will provide project management, governance, policy and administrative support, contribute to the interpretation of legislation and regulatory frameworks, and help deliver positive environmental and animal welfare outcomes for NSW. These roles offer the opportunity to work across current and emerging priorities in Biodiversity Licensing and Programs and Animal Research Ethics.

About You

We're looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Experience supporting projects, programs, regulatory functions or governance activities.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, briefs and stakeholder correspondence.
  • The ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies, procedures or compliance frameworks.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders and providing high-quality customer service.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience in environmental management, biodiversity conservation, wildlife management, animal welfare, research governance, compliance, licensing or a related field will be highly regarded.
