Locations 

Please note: Candidates applying for Broken Bay Sport and Recreation Centre (including work at Milson Island) must hold a current Coxswain Grade 1 Certificate at the time of application. This qualification is required to be considered for these locations.

About the role 

As a Service Officer (Maintenance), you will help keep our Sport and Recreation Centres safe, well-maintained and operating smoothly. You will carry out minor maintenance on buildings, grounds, equipment and facilities, assist with venue and program set-up, and work closely with centre staff and contractors to support day-to-day operations. This is a hands-on role that suits someone who enjoys practical work, solving problems and working as part of a team. No two days are the same, with a variety of tasks contributing to the smooth operation of our centres and the delivery of great customer experiences.

About you 
You're a reliable and safety-focused team player who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in maintaining facilities to a high standard. You'll be adaptable, customer-focused and able to manage a variety of tasks in a busy environment  

  • Experience in general maintenance, facilities, grounds or trade-related work.  

  • Ability to safely use tools and equipment and follow work health and safety procedures.  

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond to changing priorities.  

  • A positive, team-focused approach with a commitment to customer service.  

  • Reliable and self-motivated, with the ability to work with minimal supervision. 

 

Essential Requirements  

  • Current Class C drivers licence 

  • Obtain and maintain a Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 

  • Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment medical assessment prior to commencing duty and a hearing test (audiometric test) within 3 months of starting employment (baseline test) and a follow-up Hearing test at least every 2 years. 

  • Applies only for Hawkesbury River Centres - Coxswain Grade 1 Certificate  

 

To be eligible to apply for this position, you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident or hold a valid Australian working Visa for the duration of the appointment. Any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory National Police Check and Pre-Employment Health Assessment. You will also need to arrange a Working with Children Check, at your own expense.
